Wood Group - V- Art Group
Here at the centre we do a lot or collaborative work so here John has made a frame, using the band saw, cutting mitre joints , then cut the class and sealed the frame. Meanwhile Jackie, the artist has been working on this for the last two weeks.

The Stafford Centre was invited to participate in
the recent Mental Health Community Information Event which took place in the
Calton Centre, 121 Montogomery Street, Edinburgh on Tuesday 8th
October from 1-4 p.m. This event, co-ordinated
by NHS Scotland and Advocard, aimed to provide anyone affected by mental health
issues, and their carers, with a wide range of
information about the services and community resources that are
available to them. Joe, a Stafford
Centre service-promotion volunteer, played a vital role on the day by helping
us to set up our stall, hand out leaflets and answer lots of questions from
people who wanted to know more about the Centre. It was a very busy and enjoyable afternoon – as
a result of our work, we made lots of new contacts and expect lots of new
referrals. Thanks again to Joe, and also
to Mike, another of our volunteers who helped to prepare our display-board.
The Stafford Centre open day
The Open Day was a great sucsess, lots of people popping in to find out more about the centre. Lots of people signing up to become members and giving great feedback about the place. Thanks to everyone involved in making the day so much fun.
